New Zealand v India, 5th T20I 2026 — India tour of New Zealand

The last T20I of the tour, and on current evidence New Zealand’s last chance to avoid a 5-0 home whitewash. Shreyas Iyer’s India have won the first three by margins that have grown rather than narrowed, and the series was gone before this fixture came into view.

Seddon Park is a smaller, more orthodox ground than Eden Park and has historically given seamers something early under lights. If New Zealand are going to find a way to bowl at this India top order, Hamilton is a more likely place than Auckland to do it.

It is also the last look at this group before the squads split. Both sides change shape for the ODIs — Shubman Gill takes over India’s one-day captaincy for the first three, and New Zealand bring Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra back in.
